Preparing your house for Asbestos Popcorn removal
This project is a very labor-intensive process we have made this page so that you will have a realistic expectation of what is expected from you and what the process will be.
Preparing your house for Asbestos removal
- Due to the hazardous nature of Asbestos, the process is much more complicated and intensive.
- If your ceilings contain Asbestos then the rooms where the work will be done need to be COMPLETELY empty, unless specified during the estimate.
- This includes all beds, dressers, desks ETC.
- You can store your stuff in rooms that are not being worked on but we ask that you leave one bathroom for our employees.
- If you do not have room for everything then we recommend renting a storage pod that can be dropped off at your home from a company such as Pods, or 1800 Pack Rat.
- Remove everything that is hanging on the walls, Pictures, mirrors ETC.
- We will remove light fixtures, fire alarms, heating registers and closet doors and tracks if needed but will NOT reinstall them, unless arrangments are made in advance, we recomend getting new heating registers.
- Make sure that the water, power, and heater are working at the house and will not be interrupted during the time we are there
- Unless previously discussed with us, NO OTHER CONTRACTORS, WORKERS OR PEOPLE SHOULD ENTER THE WORK SITE DURING THE PROCESS. This process is hazardous and dirty so no one should be entering when work is going on
What to expect from start to finish
- On the start day of the project, we will arrive between 800 AM and 930 AM
- We will need a way to enter the worksite please let us know before the start of the project if you will be meeting our employees at the site to let them in or how they will be accessing the site.
- We recommend leaving a key either in a lockbox or hidden at the site for ease of access for both you and our employees.
- On the last day of your project, we will give you a call about an hour before we finish.
- YOU WILL NEED TO BE AT THE JOB SITE ON THE DAY THAT WE FINISH TO DO A WALKTHROUGH AND PROVIDE US WITH PAYMENT. Most projects are finished between 1 PM and 3 PM.
- We accept Credit Cards, however, we have to charge a 3% fee for payments made by card, so we recommend a check, cash, or cashier check.
- Due to the process of removing asbestos, there can and will be some damage on sidewalls, such as peeled paint, damaged wallpaper, ETC. We are not responsible for this damage.
- We vacuum and clean your house as best as we can however we do not wet mop or do a detailed clean.
